Travel securely! How to Stop Rattling In Your RV
Is that rattle and shake in every cupboard and storage space driving you crazy as you cruise down the highway? How and what you pack can minimise the bounce.
Keep things corralled
Soft baskets or cupboard organisers stop loose items moving around and knocking together.
Dampen the sounds
Consider storing your throw pillows or blankets on and around the dishes — it packs them in and takes the noise out.
Use rubber, non-slip mats
Line the cupboard bottoms with rubber non-slip matting or shelf liner so nothing slides.
Try magnets
Magnetic storage solutions — a magnetic spice rack, for instance — hold kitchen items where you put them.
Secure it with a bungee cord
Good for storage items and for freestanding furniture while you’re moving.
Swap those dishes
Plastic, acrylic or melamine in place of glass and ceramic makes a substantial difference to the noise.
RV stabilizers
Once parked, stabilizers take out the sway and the rattle as people move around inside — see How to Stabilize your RV.
