Our favourite winter RV activities
Have a winter adventure in your RV. From skiing to ice fishing, there are so many great cold weather activities to enjoy — and if you haven’t camped in the cold before, start with our winter RV tips.
Hit the slopes
Many ski hills welcome RVs, allowing overnight parking, or even parking spots with electricity hook-ups. Ski all day and come back to your own bed. Check the resort’s overnight policy before you go.
Take a trail
For something quieter: a hike through the woods on snowshoes or cross-country skis, and then relax around the campfire in the evening. Several provincial parks stay open through the winter with limited amenities and sites available.
Go ice fishing
Boondock at your favourite lake, spend the day on the ice, and warm up at the end of the day tucked into your own cosy bed.
Escape the cold
Or drive away from it. If you’re heading south for the season, read up on the snowbirding rules first so the border crossing back is uneventful.
