Campground etiquette

Campground etiquette

Campground etiquette is about being a good neighbour and taking care of the beautiful surroundings we’re there to enjoy.

Enjoy the tranquility of quiet time

Respecting quiet hours means the early sleepers and the late risers both get their rest.

Pack in, pack out

Take out everything you brought in, especially somewhere remote. Developed campgrounds have bins, but recycling options are limited, so bring along a few bags to sort your recyclables.

Mind your pets

Most campgrounds require pets to be leashed. A long leash or a portable pen gives them room without giving up control.

Consider the local wildlife

A clean site with the food put away protects the animals and keeps the squirrels, chipmunks and bears away from you.

Bring a wash bucket

Don’t use the campground’s bathroom sinks to wash dishes or do your laundry. Bring a bucket and biodegradable soap and do it at your site.

Don’t forage for campfire wood

Collecting wood from the trees around you is prohibited. Buy it at the camp store.

Put your fire out completely

Water on hand, and fully extinguished before you leave or go to bed.

Mind your speed

Watch for people and animals as you drive through the campground.

Leave your site cleaner than you found it

Pick up whatever is there before you pull out.
